From 2010 to 2012 Managing Director of Security and Safety Made in Brandenburg e.V. From 2009 to 2010 member of the supervisory board of Energie und Wasser Potsdam GmbH and from 2011 to 2014 member of the supervisory board of VIP Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam GmbH. From 2012 to 2016 founding member and Vice President of the Cyber-Security Council Germany, later General Secretary. Since May 2018 President of the Cyber-Security Council Germany and board member of BuCET Shared Services AG. Also member of the supervisory board of Klinikum Ernst von Bergmann gGmbH and of Lausitz Klinik Forst GmbH, as well as member of the advisory board of Luftschiffhafen Potsdam GmbH.

Long-standing advisor to the federal government. Regarded in 2007 as the most influential political advisor in Germany. From 1987 to 1999, Coordinator of German-American relations for the Federal Government. From 1992 to 2007, member of the Executive Board of the Bertelsmann Stiftung (Bertelsmann Foundation).

Director of Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security AISEC

Director of Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security AISEC in Munich. As Professor at Technical University of Munich she is holding the Chair in IT Security in the faculty of computer science.
Her research focuses on development of technologies to enhance the system and application security, the security of embedded systems and research into new techniques for increasing the resilience and robustness of systems against attacks. Her research results were published in over 160 peer-reviewed technical papers.
